Short Duet For A Lonely Gentleman

Short Duet For A Lonely Gentleman is a project in collaboration with the choreographer Barnaby Booth and Los Little Guys.

This work is a fast paced and incredibly detailed snapshot of an endlessly repeating story. Trapped in cycles of aggression and loneliness, two men reshuffle and rationalize their hopelessness, lust and pride into anger over and over again. Underneath layers of clothing, they are aware of how naked they feel.

Created with support from Creative Arts and Co. France, Spin Arts Management, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, TRAK Dance Ensemble, and School for Contemporary Dance and Thought.

Exchanges become socially and culturally cultivated to perpetrate the landscape of experience and memory in an effort to legitimize human persistence.

12 Breathes From Deconstruction

12 Breathes From Deconstruction is a continually developing project which has thus far been workshopped in two distinct periods of investigation. First brought to life in Monterrey through Espacio Expectante, the process was later continued in New Delhi with the company That’s Dance.

This work is conceived through the act of interaction, how we physically, interpersonally, and socially exchange with others to construct our reality. But in order to construct, we must first deconstruct. What must we deconstruct to build a better society? Resonating from each individual, each construction is a personal journey which become a big puzzle which shapes our collective reality.

Our intention is that this work invokes an amplified world similar to our own in order to provide the opportunity to reflect and question the impact which we have on others.

Performed in Monterrey by Jonathan Rodriguez, Marcela Cantu, Diana Cantu, Stephanie Montesinos.

Performed in New Delhi by Jyoti Soni, Priyanka Saxena, Shivalli Bhadana, Shivangi Bhadana, Tavishi Pownikar, Shayna Malhotra, Mohit Raj Thapa, Drishti Agrawal, Bineet Kaur, Aman Gupta, Mridul Gusain, and Prachi Sharma.

Music by Kaprila Keishing.

Duration: Varies. Approximately 23 minutes.

Independently researched and performed at Espacio Expectante (Monterrey) and Sri Ram Centre (New Delhi).
